A neologism for “patch” by Helge Fauskanger for his Neo-Quenya New Testament (NQNT). It is probably a combination of ᴹ√DIL “fill up hole” and the instrumental suffix ✶-mā, so originally “a thing that fills up holes”; hat-tip to Röandil for suggesting this etymology.
