A suffix for “grown” in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s as in G. liscaloth “reedy, reed grown” (GL/54). It thus means “grown” in the sense “overgrown with”. It might be related to the early root ᴱ√LOHO having to do with flowers and blooming (QL/55).
