ᴺQ. [ᴹQ.] ^umanen adv. “by some means” (Category: Some, Several)
Elements
ᴹQ. uma- | “some, a, a certain” |
Q. -nen | “instrumental” |
ᴹQ. umainen adv. “*by some means” (Category: Some, Several)
The correlative ᴹQ. umainen appeared in Demonstrative, Relative, and Correlative Stems (DRC) from 1948 (PE23/111), a combination of ᴹQ. uma- “some” and the instrumental suffix ᴹQ. -nen.
Neo-Quenya: For purposes of Neo-Quenya I would update this to ᴺQ. umanen “by some means” to be more consistent with the later use of singular instrumentals in correlatives: Q. sinen “by this means”.
